Two Sisters - Shakespeare’s Daughters tells the ordinary, extraordinary story of two young women in Tudor England. Ordinary because we watch them going about their everyday lives, making bread, laundering, gathering herbs, and discussing their future husbands. Extraordinary because they are Susanna and Judith Shakespeare, and their father is none other than William Shakespeare.
Dramatist Maggie Rose deftly blends these historic ‘facts’ with scenes stemming from a vivid imagination and careful research into the context, culture and society in which the sisters lived.
"compelling....deserves to be widely known...it places Shakespeare’s daughters firmly in our mind’s eyes.”
